Student Leadership

There are a number of ways Rutherford students develop leadership skills beyond the classroom environment.  Student organizations and clubs are an opportunity for many students to lead and represent others.  In life, there are few chances to jump into such important roles.  Whether you are a seasoned leader or new to the role, you should be looking forward to the challenge to push yourself and others to new heights.  All Rutherford students show and demonstrate leadership characteristics through our school wide pledge.

The Promise

I WILL speak up instead of acting as a bystander.
I CHOOSE to participate in activities that don't involve teasing.
I FORGIVE others if they make poor choices.
I MODEL good behaviour.
I ACCEPT others for their differences.
I INCLUDE others in group situations.
I WILL talk to an adult when there is a problem I cannot manage on my own.
I AM powerful in making a difference in my school.
